On the subject of weather, what a changeable month … Warm, cold, warm, cold, Rain, Sun, cold and Wind … but getting warmer. It’s not quite been the May of last year with constant south westerlies but we are definitely enjoying some kitesurfing …

Lessons are going well with former beginners who started their quest for walking on water at the end of last season and many  new comers too. One of my favourites is our youngest recruit so far ‘Ezme Temple’ who is showing some real potential with her flying skills at the tender age of 12. It will be pleasure to see her progress over the next few months, though I’m being very entertained by the banter flowing between her and her father … Ginge !!

I’d also like to welcome Dave Tonge into the BN1 Program. Dave’s been around for years, and used to help me out back in the Boost days. I couldn’t ask for a better fellow instructor … I especially like his choice of wheels to get to the beach on a wet and windy day …  in a Wetsuit!

Musn’t forget a Big Thanks to Tom for helping out last Sunday in his Mankini … YuK!

So though BN1 officially starts its season from today, the past month has been great for wind. Some days slightly gusty but still fun and enough to get some students out on the water for their first lessons of the year. We’ve experienced some waves days to which were few and far between last season. Thank you to Howard Kearley for some fun shots last Thursday. A classic Lancing low tide sunset session with a few of the guys from the club. Smashing!

So here’s to a good start to the season and keep it fun when ever you have the chance to escape to the beach this month …

Davos 2011/12 Season finally came to a very hot end as the mountains just evaporated away from us in soaring temperatures. Well thats a bit of an exageration as I’m sure it started snowing again the day after we leaved. We meet some great clients on the last week, some being fellow kitesurfers and others wearing strange atire … ?? Cheers to Synergy Snowsports for a smashing season … Till next time and Long may it last!

So, I’ve been back just under a week and I’m already on the beach teaching and having some fun in the sea. To top it all there’s been a great paragliding day too.

BN1 is now all fired up with its new 2012 toys from North and were ‘Back 2 Buisness’ as Slash would say! I flew the new 9 Evo twice yesterday in 2 different types of condition underpowered and powered. Handles so well and is remarkably easy on bar tension. A more comfortable ride than ever …

So now the wind is kicking in, hopefully some of you will be dusting off your kit and we’ll see you down the beach for the next stonking session …

So it’s the end of March, the snow season is drawing to a sizzling end and I’m wondering where all the fun times have flown by. We’ve had some great clients visit us over the past month, plus we have just finished the Synergy Snowsports Park & Powder tour. Roaring success with conditions suiting both areas in the sport.

I can’t believe a year has past and I’m planning my trip home to start the UK kitesurfing seaon. Very excited can’t wait to get my feet wet and hands under a kite as soon as the wind blows … looks like I’ll be back and on my UK nos 0044 7719 565011 after the 5th April …

Looking at the past and current weather forecasts the water temperature should be fairly comfortable for some early lessons … so lets get started … !!

So I’ve made a change to BN1′s trip to Egypt in June … The location is now Soma Bay.

My reasons were to visit a beach which boasts totally flat water with shallow lagoons which don’t become effected by the tide high or low. So you can kite in a comfortable safe environment all day long. This resorts also claims to be one of the 5 most consistantly windy places in Egypt.

The resort is 40 minutes away from Hurghada airport, so an easy transfer after the flight.

Looks like everyone is enjoying the warmer times all over aswell as in the UK. There’s been a few posts on Lancing Kitesurfing Clubs Facebook site for when the locals have been down the beach braving the coolier waters … Rock On!!

There is also a lot of chat about a scheme for regenerating the Lancing area at this moment in time. Lots of ideas flying around so will be interesting to see what evolves this coming year. Watch this space …

So … here’s to longer days and much fun where ever you are enjoying your sport of your choice this winter …
